Contracts

Once two parties agree that you promise to provide a service or sell a product in exchange for some type of payment, a contract may have been formed. As a business owner, leveraging well-crafted contracts to memorialize your agreements is a wise choice to protect your interests and mitigate against risk.

Business Contracts

Contracts, whether formal or informal, drive every business transaction. Small businesses need contracts, and often, a wide variety of them. What they do not need is 100 pages or more in a contract with a bunch of legal words that neither party to the contract understands. At Rhodium Law, we understand that you need solid contracts that are short and to the point. We will provide exactly that, whether it is for a purchase agreement, services agreement, subcontractor agreement, employment contract, consumer contract, limitation of liability, non-disclosure agreement, or waiver of any sort. We can assist with drafting contracts or reviewing contracts that another party wants our client to sign. For clients who would like contract templates, we can also assist with plain English, concise, efficient contracts for future use. Our contract law services are all-encompassing, from the negotiation stage to drafting, reviewing existing documents, and resolving disputes arising from the contract.

Our Services Include:

Analyze

We then move to analyze the contract, including identifying the key terms and conditions as well as the rights and responsibilities of each party.

Explain

Next, we prepare a client memorandum which summarizes the agreement.  We use this memorandum during the review meeting, as our role is to help you make informed decisions.

Recommend

We provide clear recommendations for any proposed modifications to the agreement.  If a client chooses to act on our recommendations, we can initiate the re-opening of discussions with the other party.

Our Contract Drafting Process

Our contract drafting process can be summarized in four steps:
1
Initial Consultation

Your first appointment with us is a consultation. During this consultation, you tell us what you want from your contract, and we identify how we can assist. If we are able to assist you, we discuss and agree on terms of the representation.

2
Identifying Key Terms and Clauses

After you sign our engagement letter, our team begins work to identify key terms and clauses applicable to your contract. We prepare a contract summary that lays out these terms, conditions, and clauses.

3
Drafting and Revisions

We use our legal acumen to draft and revise your contract. We work you closely during this period to revise the terms and conditions until you are satisfied with the final draft.

4
Final Review and Execution

After your approval, we finalize the contract draft, thus making it presentable for delivery to the other party. We then can assist with either the negotiation or execution of the agreement.

Our Approach to Contract Negotiation

Three rules guide our approach to negotiating your contracts.

Bespoke Strategy

When we negotiate on your behalf, we use best efforts to learn as much as possible about every aspect of the deal, and every person involved in the deal.  In short, we tailor our negotiation strategy to the people at the table.

Zealous Advocacy

We have a zeal to help our clients achieve the most favorable agreements.  Obviously, leverage plays a significant role.  But we work tirelessly to advocate in your best interests no matter how much or little leverage you may have in the deal.

Be Kind and Courteous

Although we are zealous advocates for our clients, we are also fellow human beings who care for each person involved in the deal.  We are committed to being kind and courteous to everyone we interact with, as we believe in the God-given dignity of each life.
