We are built on the conviction that protecting a family’s work and legacy is a form of stewardship, and that conviction does not stop at the client’s door. A firm is part of the community it serves, and we work to be a constructive part of Northeast Ohio and communities across the state through education, service, and support for causes that strengthen the places our clients call home.

This is not the loudest thing we do, and it is not meant to be. It is simply part of how we understand our work: good counsel offered generously, and a community left a little better for our firm being in it.

Giving back through education

The most natural way a law firm can serve its community is by sharing what it knows. Good planning is not a secret, and too many families go without it simply because no one ever explained it in clear terms. We work to close that gap.

• Community seminars. In-person educational sessions in libraries and community spaces across Northeast Ohio, open to the public, walking families through estate planning, elder law, and protecting what they have built.
• Free resources. Clear guides, articles, and answers to the questions families actually ask, available to anyone at no cost.
• Straight answers. Education comes before engagement, so people can make informed decisions about their own families whether or not they ever hire our firm.

Pro bono service

We believe that access to sound legal counsel should not depend entirely on the ability to pay. Even as a young firm, and even while building, we have taken on pro bono matters for people who needed help and could not afford it, and we intend to keep doing so as we grow.

Pro bono work is not a marketing program, and the people served through it are never a story to tell. It is simply part of what we believe a law practice is for: that the same care given to a paying client is owed, sometimes, to a neighbor who cannot pay at all.

Causes we support

Beyond education and pro bono service, we support organizations working to strengthen families and the community, including:

• American Cancer Society. Funding cancer research, patient support, and prevention, so fewer families face the disease and more of those who do come through it.
• Alzheimer’s Association. Standing with families facing Alzheimer’s and other dementias, and funding the research working toward a cure. This one sits especially close to our elder law and caregiving work.
• The Salvation Army. Meeting immediate, practical needs across the community, from food and shelter to help in a crisis.
• United Way. Strengthening local communities through health, education, and financial stability for families who need a hand up.
• Greater Cleveland Food Bank. Making sure neighbors across Northeast Ohio have enough to eat, close to home.
• Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging. Serving older adults and the people who care for them across Greater Cleveland, work that sits right alongside our own elder law and caregiving focus.

The heart of it

We are a small firm with a long view. The work of protecting families and their legacies is, at its center, about care, and care does not confine itself to the people who can pay for it. Education offered freely, counsel offered where it is needed, and support for the community we are part of: these are not additions to the work. They are the same conviction, pointed outward.
